A piece I put in scraps because I dont want it shown too much. Its a sculpture made of allsorts of simple things. The figure pushing forward the roll of carpet is meant to represent death. While it crushes down the path of life symbolized by the wooden doors, a thin small man stands at the end of the path in which it ends, waiting to be crushed down. This is my approach to the inevatibility (hope I spelt that right) of death for each individual. To express it further I built a rib cage like structure on the outside to act as a sort of containment, while making the shape coffin like. The outside browness is meant to be the earth, with the contents inside shown as if sinking down along with the rib cage digging into the earth, as if being burried.
Materials I used were, balsa wood, paper, corregated card and foam.
I like this angle, you can really see all of the details and the time you took into making this. Great job working with the cardboard, I like the effect the corrugation creates and the figure, despite being made out of flimsy material, really does look like he's exerting force on the carpet.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
